PTLA

The PTLA (Parents, Teachers, Learners Association) consists of a group of dedicated parents who together organize events and fundraisers to enrich our school. Their loyalty is admirable, and they form an integral part of the school’s foundation.


The PTLA is a subcommittee of the School Governing Body. The task of the PTLA is to assist in building the school, parent and learner community by means of participation, build Pride in the Suthies Brand & raise funds for the school to augment facility development and upkeep of such facilities. The PTLA is made up of various portfolios which focus on their respective deliverables.

 

There are 2 aspects to the PTLA, namely Committee Members and the Resource Pool Members

 

What is required from You?

 

Committee Members

 

  • We require some of your time, for meetings and events to discuss past and upcoming events and address issues that affect the events designated for fundraising.
  • Each portfolio consists of the convener and the respective resource teams that plan and host their respective events.
  • To host and coordinate an event as a conveyor or co conveyor with the respective Teachers and Students from the respective Houses.
  • 2 years in a portfolio as a conveyor or Co conveyor
  • Identify a successor.

 

Resource Pool Members

 

*  Participation or assistance at events. Remember if you        take part, your child will as well.

*  Volunteering at Events – it’s the place to be!!

*  Be brand ambassadors by wearing supporter shirts at         events

*  Helping obtain sponsors for various events

  • Wednesdays from after school until 15:00
  • Fridays at break time (Usually 10:30)
