LEADERSHIP

All divisions within an institution must be guided by a strong leadership structure. Sutherland High School is guided by our Principal, Deputy Principals and Senior Executive staff – a formidable team. 


It is, however, imperative that a solid leadership structure is also present among the learners at peer level. This portfolio is skillfully guided by, the respected, Mr A. Brand through the School of Leadership.


The School of leadership was started in 2005, under the guidance of the late Mr Anton Venter, and is a youth leadership development initiative that is unique to Sutherland High School. It removes pupils from their comfort zones and uses hardship and sacrifice to prepare the participants for their ministry of leadership. 


Pupils are given the opportunity to take part in a series of programmes and activities that are specifically aimed at developing their leadership ability and personal growth. The skills that learners gain from such a course is not only aimed to develop the “school” learner but to provide the skills that they can use and keep for the rest of their lives. 


As you can see, this programme is not just about developing our learners for the better of our school…it’s about changing their lives forever.

Thank you to Mrs Faling, Ms Meyer, Mr Van Zyl, the HOHs, AHOHs, and the registration teachers for all they contributed towards the Camp's success. Thank you to the Sports Department for assisting with SACE representation on the journey back HOME.
